Remastering Berkeley in the Sixties

Setting up this site for my films has prompted me to remaster Berkeley in the Sixties. All extant versions are copies of a thirty-year-old video transfer; and finally I couldn’t stand how bad my baby looked. I couldn’t find the original negative, nor IP or dupe neg, so release prints served as masters. Buck and Jennifer Bito at Movette Transfer Center did a painstaking new digitization; thanks to them. Now Gary Coates is doing color correction and there are a few sound fixes to make. But soon we will have a newly remastered Berkeley in the Sixties. It was expensive, but I felt it was my duty as the maker of a classic to restore it for posterity. I’m very excited, can’t wait to see how it comes out. Best of all, you’ll be able to buy the film straight from the filmmaker.
